Welcome to Dhamma Sukha Meditation Center
Bhante Vimalaramsi is the abbot of Dhamma Sukha Meditation Center in Annapolis, Missouri. He is the guide for the on-site residential retreats. He teaches Tranquil Wisdom Insight Meditation (T.W.I.M.) which uses the "Mindfulness of Lovingkindness" practice (otherwise known as the practice of the Brahma Viharas) for the journey to Nibbāna. Happiness arises as the burden of the ego melts away. Bhante talks about the benefits of using Metta here vs. the breath. Metta is much faster and easier for the path to awakening. Metta is not just a "feel-good" practice; it is the direct path to the unconditioned (SN 46.54(4)). This is REAL change.
The Summer Rains Retreat schedule has ended. You can take a 9 day Online retreat offered monthly, available for practicing Metta and Forgiveness. See our registration retreat pages for further details. Bhante travels next to Malaysia, India and the UK - more info below under retreats.

From an Online Retreat in September:
"I found your delineation of the 6 Rs practicing wholesome and unwholesome mind states to be very beneficial. When unwholesome mind states arose, I practised letting go and relaxing. It was interesting to notice the arising of joy when this happened. This brought a different understanding of ‘joy arising from withdrawal'."
