Comfortable, steady postures, natural range of motion and mindful breathing balances the physical body.
The older practices mentioned in the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita, include moral principles similar to the precepts. However, contemporary practice is primarily based on newer texts (15th century) that focus on physical and psychic abilities and omit the ethical observances and restraints.
